The Historic Coosa Country Club Golf Course.

Golf has been played on this land since the 1890’s. In 1909 it became a proper golf course on the grounds of Coosa Country Club. This 18-hole golf course was redesigned by renowned golf course architect George Cobb from 1961-1972. George Cobb was a confidant of Bobby Jones and Cobb’s better known accomplishments included designing the “Par 3 Course” at Augusta National in 1958, designing the Atlanta East Lake golf course prior to the 1963 Ryder Cup, and designing the North Carolina Quail Hollow course in 1961. He also was a consultant at Augusta National from 1958-1977. Cobb designed over 115 courses during his career. The Coosa Country Golf Course was listed in the National Historic Register in 2022.
